Cap and Ball Pistola ???????????????

Had a feller tell me that his dad stumbled onto a cap and ball pistol YEARS ago in Texas.

Said it was like a 60 army BUT had Eli Whitney engraved on to it and had a serial number of 0000

Anyone ever heard of such an animal

Yes.  The Whitney revolver was very similar to the Remington, a full frame window, about the size of the smaller .36 cal. Remington Navies.   Repros have been available for some time.  See the Dixie Gun Works catalog.  I have one that has had all the Italian markings removed, reblued, and a jeweled hammer. (Wanna buy it?)   Anyway, Whitney's have been around a long time.
