The NRA actually took the serious lead and funded or help fund mental illness facilities or assitance to those who need it,something like the waroirs project per say.Help with insurance for those with mental illness,heck i would pay extra for something like that,and i think it will have to be privately funded anyway with good doctors and such.

I personally would NOT support that. How are we going to determine who is in need of mental health treatment? Are we to wait for them to come into a Doctors office and surrender? Are we to believe that those that are mentally incapacitated even know that they need help? Do you actually believe that if these people are told that they need help that they would actually seek it? I have lived in a society that placed a great deal of dependance on the public "reporting suspicious people and/or activities". I lived seven years in Russia and I can tell you that if a program like this was started here it would very quickly decend into a situation where neighbors would report each other for just about anything that they disagreed with, even mildly, irrespective of whether it was politicaly, religiously, socially or moraly disagreeable with them. In Russia the term is "knocking" on your neighbor and it was and still is in some places very common. There is enough government spying and intrusion into my life now. I don't need any more.
