RC, I saw Bob live twice and he said to us that he cocked the hammer and pulled the trigger for every shot. Those are his words not mine. So I can only believe he was telling us the truth.
Ride Safe and Shoot Straight.

Howdy Rick, I'm sure RC knows that, he was refering to when Bob did fast draw demonstrations and exhibitons. FWIW Red Cent is a trigger man, but shoots with several top guns that do slip hammer. Just a few years ago when Harold (Red Cent) shot all over the country he earned a room full of buckles and awards, one is a 1st place category from the World Campionship End of Trail. At the time he was (and problably still is) amongnst the top 50 CAS. The only way some of the young bucks were able to beat him was with foot speed. RC shoots average stages in the teens, and from what I've heard is auwful hard to beat in 3-Gun now. Good Luck :D

Thank you for the nice words Jefro. I will brag and say that at 65, I placed 35th in the world in 2007. But age has taken its toll.

RickB, Jefro is correct. Met Bob in 2005 at the Cowboy Convention in Las Vegas. There are some interesting and controversial subjects involving Bob. Ought to talk to Bob Mernickle and/or Cal Elrich. I say this mostly in jest but Bob was the fastest man alive. If you don't believe me you should have asked him (no disrespect) . He had an ego. Very likeable guy.

I don't believe either way is the best for everybody. Neither is dangerous for most anybody. Be aware that the sliphameering did not start with SASS. I would have to look up my research, but there is a cowboy with a questionble history in the last part of the 1800s who cut the front of his trigger guard out and tied the trigger back. True sliphammerer. Met his end in an alley by a reltive famous lawman. i get back with you on that.
