My pre 64 Winny is having issues with the firing pin. I`ve ran reloads and Hornady`s through it. A few primers aren`t go off. After I put the rounds back in the gun they fire. I checked to make sure the primers are properly seated and that wasn`t it.  I bought it used and it`s a 1941 rifle. Could it just need disassembled and cleaned or is it the firing pin or spring or both ?

Start with a good cleaning.Dirt, oil etc can deposit in the bolt over time and slow the F/P down.

After a disassembly and good cleaning i`m thinking the leaf spring may be a bit weak. When the hammer is down all the way to the reciver i`m getting some play back and forth. Is this normal ?

No it shouldn't be loose when down. Check out the cause, you may need a new spring.

No.  As posted, your hammer should be solidly down on the firing pin.  Sounds like the main spring had been fiddled with to give a lighter lever throw.  Original Winchester main springs seldom take a "set" nor quit without help.  See my post for your rest sight elevator.

PS:  You need a new mainspring
