Wow, what a blast!!  Dynamite Bill went out of his way to be sure I got to shoot and that I had a great time.  He practically cut off his finger in the process, what a guy!  I had a great time shooting with the CBS crowd... learned the joys of oversized caps and the joys of oversized conicals, but what glorious smoke!  It took me 2 stages before I got 5 bangs out of the revolver, but the last 3 stages had 5 bangs each!  I managed to not DQ myself until the last stage  :o.

Got to work on my outfit... and get some leather... and acquire some more guns... but I'm already looking forward to next month, and the shoot was only yesterday!

Many thanks to Dynamite Bill, Marshal Davis, and the rest of the Covered Bridge Shootists for showing me a good time!

Hi Mad Dog

I used to live behind the Mall in Decatur AL back in the 1990's.  Loved it.  A close place for less expensive shirts would be Mike Moore at www.buckaroohatters.com/  He doesn't put it on his website, but he has western style shirts that are made using modern dress shirts.  You could probably bring in an old dress shirt and have it altered.  If you wearing a vest, you can't tell that the shirt button's all of the way down.  Mike also has the pants, vests, and frock coats.

Mad dog You got a good start with that Remington cap and ball revolver and its obvious you're a pretty good shot with it too. We usually have a trade table at the shoot but didn't have one this month I think partly because of all the recent rain we just were not thinking about it. I'll mention it in the shooting report and you can watch for some decent odds and ends to show up for sale at the shoot next month. Kind of like a cowboy garage sale if you know what I mean. You have a year to build up a kit so theres plenty of time ahead. You shoot free as a guest for two more months also. One thing I really liked about NCOWS better than SASS is the authenticity aspect rather than just a bunch of rules that make no sense. For instance in SASS you have to wear a cowboy and cowboy boots even if they are modern and don't really go with your personna. NCOWS is more realistic and you can wear boots, brogans, or even moccasins as long as they are an authentic style and fit in with your personna. Same goes for the hat. Why one of our shooters this weekend even showed up wearing a skunk on his head. And he took first place shooting too so nobody was about to say anything about that durn hat thats for sure. Anyway we were glad you had a good time and look forward to you shooting with us again.
