Who sells reduced power mainsprings for Pietta 1858s?
I had one once, but don't remember where it came from.
Thanks

Howdy Dawg,

I think VTI Gun Parts used to have them. I don't see them on their website but you might give them a call.

Just rumors of rumors but I have heard that perhaps using the spring from cartridge versions is a big improvement while remaining dependable.

I know I'm late on this but you can just drop in a Colt '51/'60 mainspring into the slot and shorten the tip a bit and you will have a nice light action. I've done it several times.

Since I have 14+ guns, I've been called the Imelda Marcos of Cap&Ball. Now, that's a COMPLIMENT!
