Anyone in the CT area going to the Hartford Gun Club to shoot the Zip?

Capt. John Fitzgerald

Shoot the ZiP before the ZiP shoots you!

A few days back I got another ZiP e-mail from USFA.  Didn't bother to really look at it until today.  There is a link to a "frequently asked question" section of their web site in which the question is posed, "what are those rods above the barrel?"  Apparently you push one rod to load the chamber and the other to re-cock the striker mechanism in the event of a FTF.  I figure it will only be a matter of time until someone shoots themselves in the hand performing the re-cocking operation.  Ah, well...
For those interested, here is a link to the ZiP operator's manual;

http://www.zipfactory.com/pdf/ZiPOperatorManualWebEdition.pdf

If you scroll down the the end of the manual you will see that those lucky ZiP guys will be able to get t-shirts and stuff - something we poor USFA SAA guys have always asked for and never received.   :(

Oh, one more thing...  According to the manual it is illegal to attach the ZiP to a rifle or their "Battle ZiP" stock accessory without an ATF Form 1 which requires a $200 fee.  Who would have guessed?

Heck, I'm pretty sure USFA hasn't "figured out what market this is supposed to fill".
Anonymity breeds bravado.......especially over the internet!

I wonder if we will start to see reviews of the ZIP in gun mags. Also wonder whether USFA is preparing to be at the SHOT Show with this product .

Capt. John Fitzgerald

I wonder if USFA is preparing for the law suits when some bozo shoots his finger off using that striker reset plunger.
