Here is a question what is the most shotgun shells you have needed at a CAS match. What is the average number of loops Or shells held on a shotgun belt? Should 10 - 12 shotshells be enough in most cases? ( I guess thats a couple of questions).

Generally, stages have 4 shotgun targets.  Occasionally there will be 6 or 8.  The most I've ever come across was 12, and that was years ago.  My shotgun belts have 12 loops on them.  I haven't run out in a long time.

My current belt allows for twelve, ten shells are in double pouches and two shells are in single loops.  My pouches are pretty shallow and I do not trust them without the double load, thus the need for a couple of singles fer when things go wrong.  My mostest favorite rig ever was made up of slides worn on a one and a half inch belt, BUT alas, it looked like $#!+.  The slide concept allows one to customize ones belt just for any given stage and not require a one size fits all approach.  I do think I have an idea to slightly improve the appearance of such a rig but will not get to it fer a spell.  Like Fingers says, twelve will meet 99% of what you will ever run into, unless you actually miss a whole lot.  In that case get a belt that will hold twelve and carry a spare slide that will add four in that rare emergency!

could not find a shotgun belt that liked untill i found lonerider leather on this site acouple of years ago..  most people put too many shells around the middle, i am too heavy to start with.  his belt  had 10-12 loops -3 pistol rifle on each side .  wet molded loops hold shells in place-pull easy-light - comfortable and best price i found ..to put it simply i would buy from him again1
