Try wood working sites and stores that carry woods and materials for veneering or laminating of woods. They are mostly used in these hobbies and businesses.

My kids use a vacuum bagging machine for food preservation; you should be able to find something similar in Sweden.
Kayak and canoe makers use vacuum bagging as well.
Remember it is air pressure that moulds the item, not the thickness of the plastic bag.

Thanx. I will search for it some more. It will make things easyer making modern holsters, mag puches and canteens.

BB,

I am still waiting to get an email back from the person who did my vacuum molding ... but his suggestion was to go to:

http://www.joewoodworker.com/

He said that I would find every thing that I needed there.

Hope this all works out ....

Professor Marvel

Greetings My Good Netizens -

As an inveterate cheapskate frugal fellow, my funny little grey cells cogitated upon the matter-
"can the high priced tooling provide any more vacuum (or pressure on the work) than anything else?"
after all, once the air is drawn from the bag it is the atmospheric pressure that does the work.

Thus with that in mind, I have to ask why wouldn't this penny-pinchers method work:

your wife's hoover + these bags: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Space-Bag-Large-Dual-Use-Vac-or-Roll-Set-of-6/11085276

not for serious production work, but pretty cheap to try out or limited runs...

My limited forays into the world of pressure forming have been somewhat successful and the press that is required can be used for many other leather shop functions betwixt the pressure forming chores.  Most of this can be handled easily with the small 12 ton press, if its dimensions will accept the work between the frames.  A small tidbit, the foam necessary for pressing can sometimes be found locally and at pretty reasonable prices.  In my case I found that the sheet foam used by kayak shops to create custom fits is ideal for my press use and seems to last longer than what I am hearing about the stuff sold by kydex/knife supply shops.
