Wondering ifn anyone shoots these. I bought a large batch of 292 grain RNFP (dia .458) bullets from Montana Bullet Co. Used the load data from Lymon's 49th Edition, the article was written by Brian Pearce. I did this as an experiment, it is my understanding that was the bullet that Winchester used when the rifle was made back in 1878-79.  Just wondering if anyone out there has used these bullets and their results.

Yes, I use 'em in my old Winchester .45-60, in fact that is all I use in it.  Got a deal on a bunch of them some years back that were lubed with a smokeless lube, which I removed and relubed with SPG.  They have always worked fine for me out to 200 yards or so.  I don't load anything other than black powder in this caliber.

James.

Yes this my main bullet in my Uberti 45-60 Carbine, It has taken an age to get it to shoot well. I have used 3031, 4891, Varget, but have know gone to SR4759 and it is looking good.
PM me and I will dig out my loads.

I have cut my case as per 49 E.dition SPG lube. I have had no good groups with BP so gave up.
