Howdy pards.
I'm working on a knife sheath. I dont know what color i will use, maby a two tone..
How would YOU do ???

That's beautiful. A subtle two-tone is what I'd do. Light brown background painted in. Russet over the whole thing after that dries. You could get a similar effect with a good antique finish to fill in the lows.
