Well finaly got a roundtooit. Have had this Winchester reloading tool in 45-75 wcf along with the bullet mould for a while. Have been shooting bullets made in this mould fer a while ,and reloading the cartridges with the tool. But like most reloading tool's found ,the decapping pin was missing with this set.Have been decapping by hand with pick and mallet.Shure I could use the modern dies and press. But I like useing the old tool's for the antique rifles. Not having a 45-75 decapping pin to measure ,I looked at some pictures of some, in the 1876 Winchester book, and I have one for my 40-60 wcf.Took some measurements from a fired case neck id. OAL and pin size chucked up some steel round in the lathe and about an hr. latter ,this is what I came up with.I think it look,s perty good and works real good. Decapped about 15 cartridges with it so far.Put a pic. of the new pin on the left and the original 40-60 pin on the right.........Dusty.

Mighty nice Dusty. If I had that equipage I'd for sure use it too. It's all good when you can do the old stuff in the old way.

I've been using original Winchester tools and molds for many years to load for the .40-60, .45-60, .45-75 and .50 Express.   I've found that they work much better than modern dies and molds in my original Winchesters.  All of my tools have the original decapping pins, but I don't use them.  I have shell holders  for these cartridges and use Lee's universal decapping die, which works very well in my Rock Chucker.
