Chief Black Dog of the Osage (ca.1780 - 1848) was said to be  VERY tall - nearly 7 feet, and 300 lbs.

My grandmother was Choctaw from OK, but only 5' tall.  Her grandfather was relocated to I.T. in 1830.  Her husband, my grandfather, was of Mississippi Choctaw descent, and was about 6'2".  Maybe the Trail of Tears took somethin' out of 'em...
"Stand, gentlemen; he served on Samar"
