Or put something more on the flap, like beads or something,I put fringe and the colored cloth on the strap. It wa plain when i got it but us indians have to personalise stuff..I am Chief Thundermoon~of the suakfox tribe.Doing my powder horn strap next.

Too much on the strap?

Rickety, that flap is as naked as a baby's bottom.

Mine had (Past tense.  I'm designing a new one.) an assortment of domed brass buttons with red felt disk backing, a grizzly claw (from Tandy), a small silver Celtic cross, a couple of nickel conchos, a cut-out weeping heart with red felt insert, and a few domed brass studs.

The bag looked great but was about as practical as a barbed wire jock strap, so I'll make the new one look similar with a more efficient internal layout and a better flap attachment.  I might not use a separate flap and just carry the back over the top to the front in one piece.

My strap won't be as elaborate as yours simply because I'm too lazy to do it.  I like a patch knife attached to the strap and a  pocket on the outside under the flap and another in the back.

The strap is not elaborate, you can buy that stuff by the roll for about 8.00,i had to do both sides after i put the fringe on which by the way was bought at the same place i got the material, becuase it has a thong for adjustment and didn't look right one sided. The material i got is just a smidge narrower than the strap and i just glued it on,i will have my cousin that owns an upholstry shop sew it down for me(i know that's cheatin) but that's what i wanted to find out before i sewed it if it was too gawdy,i have some cool stuff i can sew on the flap.. :) That fringe stuff comes in a roll also with a little strip area to sew or glue down, got it at Joannes...
