Lessee, 300,000.00. That means you will have to sell over 3500 moulds just to pay for that tool cutter. Way to think BIG!

I've seen four cavity molds that were basically a double cav with cavities on the top & bottom with two sprue cutters. That'd be easier to make but not as fast casting.

Since I have 14+ guns, I've been called the Imelda Marcos of Cap&Ball. Now, that's a COMPLIMENT!

Ho Slim,

NO, that machine wasn't bought just for my tooling.  My manufacturing firm was buying it for their own tool making.  No way my revenue stream could justify that kind of investment.  But, the bummer was that the machine couldn't produce the tungsten/carbide intricate tooling my designs demand.

Strawhat, if you are looking for "bigger balls" and don't want to spend a fortune, check the "Do-It" fishing sinker web site. They make several multi-cavity "cannon ball" molds.  The bigger multi-cavity molds typically have four different size cavities in them.

I have a couple of them that span the size range +- an inch that give me lead balls that fit several flintlock "pirate" guns, as well as a couple of 1" bore scale cannons.  They are reasonably round. The molds lack a sprue cutter, but the vent hole is designed so that for some reason the sprue typically cracks and separates as the lead cools.

Dick,

I would be looking for a .454 mold as well when this all comes together.

Dick,

All of my bp guns are .44 Caliber ... and when you get a .44 Cal/six mold system, let me know!

I'm waiting for a call from my machinist right now.  The new tooling was supposed to be delivered this week.  Don't hold your breath, but they are coming.

I'm holding my breath and turning might blue!  ;D

I've already ordered some pure lead ingots to start casting as soon as I can get a mold.

I'm only 56, so I'm sure they will get here while I am still able  to cast my own!

Just got and tested a new production prototype .457" six cavity round ball mold.  It is very good.  I ordered a batch to sell.  I also placed an order for .380" and .454" RB molds based on the success of the .457" model.

I'll be announcing availability as soon as the production molds are in hand.

So, yes, they are coming.  FWIW, the big six cavity molds really pile up the balls in a hurry.  They drop easy, fill quick and work fast.

Dick Dastardly,

Thanks WWE,

I'll make announcements wherever permitted, certainly here.  There is a great deal of pent up demand for these molds and I was guilty of excess enthusiasm when I made an early announcement about them.  Now, they will become reality.

Thanks for waiting.

DD,
I've been nagging you for a long time on when they will come out and 6 months ago I found a 4 cavity Lyman .454 RB block off eBay. It's a heavy sucker but twice as fast as my old LEE DC mold. I cranked out about 1000 balls for the year. I expect your molds will be much handier, lighter and cast a ball with a smaller sprue. So, I'd like to vouch to others to buy your molds. With your mold, 6 at a time is 50% more than 4 at a time with mine and less tiring. Good luck with them, I'll make do with what I have or maybe sell it and get one of yours. I gotta think about it.
