Bought this holster as an unknown.  Fits a 1911 with loops.  Ther's a strap missing from the top.  short strap with buckle in front and long strap coming around back.  The straps are  too short to fit comfortably around my chest, and obviously the top of the shoulder strap held it on.  With nothing up there, it just slides off.  Can't figure how it's supposed to work?  No maker's mark, numbers, etc.  Any ideas?  Thanks, Bill

Looks like someone decided to make a holster to fit his personal needs by using other holsters and parts.

The cross-strap may not fit 'your' chest - but probably fit the original owner.

Some shoulder holsters were meant to fit with a strap across the chest and a shoulder loop to bear the weight of the weapon - some went across the chest.

Hunting holsters resemble this - 'Old West' shoulder holsters don't.

It doesn't appear to be a' Frankensteen', but who knows.  The 'holster' portion actually swivels a bit.

If it swivels - it's almost certainly a hunting hoslter built for a long-barreled something or other.

The swivel allows an easier draw.

Scouts Out!
