Saw something today I've never encountered before.  A friend bought it recently and showed it to me.  It is a Crescent-Davis single shot pistol in 410 gauge.  It is a break action with an external hammer, blued barrel, case hardened frame and hammer, nice wood pistol grip and fore stock.  It is in very excellent condition, maybe 98%+.  I understand it was manufactured in the late 20s and it is very sweet.  Anybody know anything about these; rarity, value...  It is an interesting piece and I'm curious.

Crescent made many "Brand" guns  Sears & Robuck, Montgonery Wards, Western Auto , even Penny's
There were even some small regional hardware Co. , perhaps a 100 or more Cresent made and branded guns...

The Crescent Davis company itself was only in business a few years .... 1929 - 1931
so it's kinda rare, but not really valuable ..... most in the $100-150 range

It's an NFA weapon, and should be on the BATF  'any other weapon' registry list by serial number - otherwise, it's illegal to possess or sell - and would require the Form 4, if it is.

It's like the old Marble's 'Game-Getter' - popular in their era, up until 1934, but never as nicely finished - and sold new for $11.00.

this is true however,  the Game Getter was reclassifed a AOW
I don't know if the Cresent Davis falls in the SBS or may be another AOW  :-\
