howdy yall
i 've had my c sharps 44 -2 1/4 for a little over a year now. i was able to get the barrel broken in and sigthed in at 50 yards in time for last hunting season, and took two nice white tail does with it.
took it out today to sight in at 100 yards. ran off and forgot my file, but went ahead and blasted a few rounds anyways. it was printing between 6-8 inches low at 100 yards. very pleased with this gun.
i got my file in my shooting bag so next weekend when i go shooting again i'll be in business ;)

What powder are you using in that 44?
Mine is loving the dickens out of KIK 1.5. I've got a grease groove bullet load that will hold less than a minute at 300 yds, and shot a pretty decent score on paper at 800.
Today I was shooting a patched bullet from a set of blocks I had Accurate moulds make and that thing was holding well under a minute at 600 :o Definetly need some more testing with that one..

thats some durn fine shooting ranch.
a few years ago i ordered a 25 pound case of powder from goex. so that is what im using now 3f goex. all of my other guns are sited in with it and the sharps seems do like it as well. but i'm not gonna limit myself just to that. i want to try swiss and kik loads as well.
as of now i'm using a greese groove bullet that i cast from wheel weights from a rcbs mould. it sure put the hurt on the two does i killed this pass year, dropping them in there tracks the first one was like 25 yards and the other was about 50 give or take a step or two.
i want to shoot patched bullets out of mine. i been hesitating about sighting in my gun with greese groove bullets and then have to start over again with paper patch. is there alot of difference in  elevation  point of impact between the two bullets you use?

Billy I have that rcbs bullet as we ran it in the 43 egyptian, but this mould drops the bullets to large in the nose and they won't chamber :-\
The KIK powder burns super clean and about twice as accurate as my Cartridge powder.

I'm shooting a 480 gr original postel bullet from Brooks and this 480 gr patched bullet and there's not enough difference in elevation to get worked up about especially at closer ranges. There is quite a bit of difference in how much windage is needed tho. Advantage to the patched bullet.
I also have a patched bullet that is a copy of an original sharps bullet that shoots more than well enough for a hunting bullet, and hopefully I'll get to put some critters on the ground with it this fall.

took the c.sharps out yesterday. this time i didn't foget my file. ::) got it printing on paper at a 100 yards. one more trip to the range and i should be set

shot number one printed about 12 inches low. shot number 2printed lower left of target. shot number 3 printed out to the right and about 2 inches low. cleaned the barrel and shot number 4 went wild. can't explain it so i'll just say operator era.
shot 5,6 ,7  printed about a 3 inch group. i was out of cleaning patches by then and the temperature was rising quiet rapidly so i called it a day. another session should get me where i need to be and then its practise practise practise to tighten up my groups
