Italian made cap and ball sixguns have a variety of markings that denote the year of manufacture, the proof houses where it was tested and the manufacturers name or logo. In this video I'll show you how to interpret the various marks to gain useful knowledge about your firearm.

Another great, straight forward informative video. I was about to freak out when you started without any ASM (SM) logos but you showed it during the filming. A lot of my favorite Colts are ASMs. This was a good reference as so many inquiries come onto message boards as to "Who made my gun?" and half the time they haven't looked under the rammer. I didn't know about the proof marks being under the triggerguard but I don't have any Colt style Ubertis. Good job.

Since I have 14+ guns, I've been called the Imelda Marcos of Cap&Ball. Now, that's a COMPLIMENT!
