Cabellas has 1858 pistols in both 5 1/2 & 7 1/2 inch for 169.99!!!     This looks like a great deal & worth the back order. I got two & found them to both be super.

To sweeten the price... Cabela's sending out those post cards out, that gets you $20 off any purchase over $150. I just got my post card in the mail yesterday.

Mogorilla

Ordered on in 8" barrel.  Just got it last night.   Several things.  This is the best finished Pietta I have ever gotten.  It is just too pretty.   It is also the best out of the box action I have ever had on any gun.   I took it apart and cleaned it, the insides are smooth as a baby's behind.  It really struck me funny that the brass framed ones are actually more expensive!

The Trinity Kid

How weird is that?  Brass is less expensive than steel.  Oh well, I got the steel frame anyway.  Now comes the fun part, waiting for delivery.  I hate long waits >:(

I find them on the Cabelas site for $169.99, but when I put them in my shopping cart, the price magically increases to $229.99.  Anybody else having this experience?  And what is the workaround?

The same thing was happening about a week ago, when their Pietta 1851's were on sale. There was one price on the site...but when you clicked on it, to add to the shopping cart, the price was about $60 more.

I was going to call Cabela's and asked them about it but then saw they updated their website.

Cabela's seems to have some ongoing website issues.

Had a pair of shorties in the cary with the same thing happening??? Back up to 229...  :'(

I had an email exchange with Cabelas about it.  Their explanation:  "[T]he item was going off sale as you were starting your order.  We are not able to honor the $169.99 sales price online . . .."    Now remember, it was clearly listed at $169.99--they just had it set up so a higher price was charged when you put it in your shopping cart.  This wasn't some split-second timing thing where I caught them between keystrokes--I went back and forth several times over several minutes, clicking on the lower price to put into the cart, but each time the price that appeared in the cart was $60 higher.  Perhaps they hoped I wouldn't notice?

Anyway, in their explanation I think they hit the nail right on the head.  I was ambivlent about Cabelas before, but things are much clearer now.  Since they ran out of honor, I don't believe I'll do business with them anymore.

There is another possibility are you sure when you were going back and forth, was each new return an updated return or just a back click?  On many sites, if after entering a post I simply back click to the previous page it will not be updated until I actually close it and reopen again or refresh.  Sure some of the puter brains here can explain it better than I?

Cabellas occasionally offers some of the most ridiculously low sales prices I have ever seen anywhere.  I have actually benefited from a couple of their quicky sales over the last two years, some, like these, I have missed but I do not blame Cabellas.  I also refuse to pass up on those occasional super prices because of conspiracy theories.

I tried it a bunch of different ways, because I was hunting for the one that cost $169, but kept getting the pricier one.  I did
new searches, went back to previous page, tried different search terms--I eventually ended up with five in my cart, and they all came out the same:  click on the small price, into the cart with the larger price.

I agree they sometimes have attractive prices, but price is not everything.  Even a genuine apology would have gone a long way with me.  But their tacit acknowledgement that they were advertising a lower price and charging a higher one, and the similar experiences of others posted here, suggests that honor is not high on their list of priorities.

When I was looking at prices it was doing the same thing for me, on two occasions in the last 3 weeks or so.

One price shows up when browsing the general BP revolver search page...but then when you click on it, the price would always come up much higher on the details/put in your shopping cart page.

I didn't think too deeply on it and kinda chocked it up to another company not properly updating and maintaining their web site.

At any rate..both times it happened, I passed on what would otherwise have been a quick drive to my local Cabela's store to pick a new BP gun up.

We didn't have a problem ordering mine. The page said  $169.99 and when we put it in the cart, it said the exact same thing. Total price was $187.00  including shipping and tax.  it just showed up last night, so I am an extremely happy camper, or shooter, whichever way you choose to look at it.  :)
