 As leather dye in a spray form like spray paint?I have a hat that is faded from sunlight and is sort of a pinkish brown and i want to darken it ir make it black it's an Akubra. It's this one right here,i got it at a second hand store for next to nothin,but it is faded and looks pink instead of a sand color..

Here's a link you may want to look at:

I haven't used this stuff but there's a phone number towards the bottom you can call for more information.

You could use an airbrush. That not available, there are pressure cans you can put anything you want in.

Most any large chain auto store has carpet color spay in aerosol cans. They color but does not get stiff or rub off on something else.

I've used a whole lot of those Preval cans, Rick. They work great. As I recall you can put just about anything in them. I doubt you would need to dilute the dye because I used to spray Imron paint with them to touch up my airplane. That's normal sprayer thickness, of course. It worked fine. When I cleaned them out, I used thinner and it sprayed great through them, too. If I was going to do that, I'd just put it in and start spraying. Of course, you'd want to test it full strength first to see what you get.

I'm sure it'll come out fine. Those Preval sprayers have the normal rattle can nozzle. The other ones you charge with compressed air have an assortment of different tips so you can choose how they spray. I looked in all my hats and most aren't marked. Two were so it looks like the average is 10 1/8. It probably depends on whether I need a haircut.  ;D

Just to add to the confusion;
I had a buddy who decided that he would rather have a black hat than a brown. He dyed it a bit different than you're thinking.
Now, what is a Cowboy hat made out of? Mostly wool with some beaver fur blended in. And wool and beaver fur are....HAIR! My buddy used hair dye on his hat. Worked good, too.

Ron Popiel would be proud :D But wait act now and we will double your order! ;D
