Hello!
A Colt Walker sold in 2008 for $920,000.  It's considered the nicest Walker in existence.  Looking at pictures of it, it's amazing it served in at least two wars and remains in that good of condition.  Just a little out of my league!

The man who sold that Walker has been a close friend for almost 50 years.  He still lives here in Montana and I probably saw that gun for the first time when I was twelve or thirteen years old and many times since then.  The gun had been in his family since it was first issued to one of his ancestors in 1847.  From that time on, it had been passed down from generation to generation until it was given to John sometime in the 1950's.  It is truely a magnificent revolver.

Did anyone see the 1 of 100 sold by James D. Julia earlier this week for a little over $316,000?........not to mention all of the fine Winchesters from the Wes Adams collection.  Most of them are a just a wee bit out of my price range but it's still fun to dream!

I would be shocked if the highest of the high were not much higher than any American firearm.  Some of those things featured on The Rifleman covers through the years were special presentations firearms made for the old European kings and queens which contained more in precious metals and jewels than we can even imagine.  Think, a gun with many carrots of jewels and so much gold inlays and overlays as to weigh much more than the iron itself and even has a link to some notorious king who might have lived a hundred years or more before the birth of America.  I saw a matched pair on tv (or the internet) not long ago that even had animated birds that danced around on the barl when the trigger was pulled or some sich silliness BUT the guns were worth a nobleman's treasure??
