Howdy,
What do you use to Defarb (remove Black Powder only lettering etc.) from octagonal barrels?  Grinding, Draw filing, or milling?

Draw file....  be care to stay the flats and card the file each pass to prevent build up a gouge the flat
hand grinding will result in cupped surface I think ,
unless it was surface grinding machine which would work
A mill would work...but I have no personal access to either...
when planets align...do the deal !

IOf you use a mill, you need to shim the muzzle end to match the taper, as all these barrels are tapered.  It will most likely be easier to smooth and repolish a properly draw filed flat than to sand through the machine marks on a milled one.
