The closest known source is 231 miles away, by appointment. It's even getting harder to find even granulated substitutes in FFFG. Pellets are killing the market here. Unless you shoot enough to justify a bulk purchase by mail the math is dismal.

We are very lucky to be able to purchase several different brands at good prices and have it delivered to our door step.
There are some of you who say how hard it is to get but have no location posted so we don't know where you are speaking of.
It's a shame that anyone on this earth should not be able to enjoy the Black Powder sports which are hundreds of years old.
Several of your country men died fighting for those rights, only to have them taken away.
We are able to buy KIK 2 F for about $10 a pound before Hazmat and shipping and even less when buying Diamondback which I use in my SASS shotgun loads.
I only wish that your problems of buying the real powder would go away so that you may enjoy one of the best ways to spend a day of Fire, sparks and smoke!!

Put me in the category of being a Spoiled Tall Dog  ;D
All the Goex & now Diamondback traveling ... 36 mins / 18.88 miles
Our local reloading supplier (sells out of a concrete block chicken coop) has BP and also more of any kind of other reloading supplies than all the big stores put together - Honest Indian!  Plus EH Salomon is the only BP retailer in New Jersey
Additionally, a few years back scored on powder for $2.43 a lb.  Clean out of an old general store that went out of business
I order the good stuff from Powder Inc. Just updated my inventory of the new lot of KIK
When Goex (I should say Hodgdon) discontinued Cartridge, the magazine of the supplier is now empty of that grade.  CTG is the only grade of Goex I desire to and do shoot.  For the Cartridge, I paid $16.45/lb over the counter, plus NJ sales tax.  Only can buy 5 lbs at a time in Jersey but it's better than $22.95 per 5 lbs from Powder Inc - plus shipping & HazMat

Gents, let's face it, the distributors are ripping us off on the price of BP.  The 2010 import shipment price of KIK to the US was $2.79 per lb.  That includes international container shipment costs also.  Hodgdon-Goex too is making a large profit on us because in addition,  the US shipping costs are substantially less to the distributors from Minden, LA

Howdy!

I live about 35-40  miles (about an hour) from Deer Creek Powder, Inc. in Indiana, just a bit south & east of Indianapolis.  (U.S.A.)  I shared a purchase of 2 cases last spring.  We actually bought for 3 of us and it was a mix'n'match situation.  We opted for GOEX since he didn't have enough Scheutzen to get 50 lbs. of it.  I ended up with 18 pounds which worked out to about $10.50/lb. per pound, and that included the Hazmat fee, but since we drove, there was no shipping.  Not the best price ever, but certainly not bad in these times.

It's not the gas station the corner, but it IS pretty handy.  On the other hand, our County has seen fit to regulate storage & insurance rules so much that only ONE gun dealer I know of sells BP and it's approaching $18/lb. now.  At the BigBox stores, (WalMart, Meijer, etc.) Pyrodex, Trip7, and the "easy-to-store" stuff is available during deer season.  Two years ago, I was in my local Wally World (WalMart) about a month after hunting season  and I spied 3 containers of Triple 7 on the "bargain shelf" ... with no price marked.  I asked about the price to an attendant who mistakenly wandered by when a customer (me) actually needed a question answered, and he couldn't find the powder on his confuser, so I said "Will you take $10 each for them?"  ... And he said "Yes!"  So I have some hi-test pseudo-BP that might just come in handy if I decide to go hunting again!
