Could be because it's only supposed to hold six.  The manual and the Chiappa website say their guns are made to hold five in the magazine tube and one in the chamber.   When you jam in a seventh round maybe it is jamming up the works.

Loadin a shell on the carrier is very common i figured there was somedy here familliar enuf with this gun to tell me how to fix this

Hi,

I have a Cap Coyote (Norinco) Model 1887, but I have only fired it in SASS with the required two shells ... but I can say that unless the lever is levered with uh, shall we say alacrity, the fired shell ends up with the metal edge half in the chamber and the open end of the expended shell sticking straight up on the outside somewhere about 1 o'clock ... but I fixed that with more, uh, enthusiastic levering ....

I have eight, work on them and shoot them in competition all the time.  But, you are so smart you figure it out and then tell us un-enlightened what was wrong.

Here's why.  Take a dummy shell and push it into the carrier and push the carrier all the way down.  Slowly close the lever and watch the shell.  Where does it go?  There is not enough room in the receiver for two rounds so the bolt pushes the shell in the carrier into the magazine tube.  Take five dummies and load them into the magazine tube.  Now try to push in a sixth round.  If it bottoms before going all the way into the magazine tube it is also bottoming when you try to close the lever.  The magazine spring is either in coil bind or the follower has bottomed.  In either event, you can't force more shells into the magazine tube.  What is happening with your gun and the shells you are using (not all 2 3/4" shells are the same length UNFIRED.  Winchester AAs are usually a little shorter than a Remington STS.)  is that your shells are bottoming out in the magazine tube with the lever/bolt (it's all one big piece on the 87) not quite in battery.  There is a firing pin retractor in the bolt and the bolt is designed so that if it is out of battery the firing pin can't hit the primer even if the firing pin retractor has released.  Thus, Chiappa says 5 + 1, not 5 + 2.  You might be able to modify the spring or the follower to get 7 shots (or use 2 1/2" shells), but what's the point?

I was thinkin it was something like that but since i dont have an armorers level of knowledge on the guns internals  ive heard that some of the extraction problems were from guns bein picky bout ammo.     Chiappa aparently decided to Aknowledge the loading method cause there website says 5+2

I was looking at the manual that comes with the guns and an actual gun.

930.000 1887 LEVER ACTION      12/70      5+1      22" Colour case 12-13
930.001 1887 LEVER ACTION      12/70      5+1      28" Colour case 12-13
930.002 1887 LEVER ACTION      12/70      5+1      22" Chrome 12-13
930.003 1887 LEVER ACTION      12/70      5+1      28" Chrome 12-13

There are lots of errors on company websites.  I suspect the 5+2 is a typo.  If it is an important issue for you give Chiappa a call.  They are a good group and stand behind their products.

I should clarify a bit.  Some are originals and a Chicom.  Might be nine as I picked up a nice original at Cabellas a couple of weeks ago.

I suspect when I check out my daughter will meet a lot of my friends when she is emptying out the gun safes.   :D
