Howdy all.

So I have an opportunity to purchase a small .32 cal Smith & Wesson top break.  Haven't seen it yet, but am told it is nice on the outside, and very nasty on the inside.  Currently, this pistol is classed as a 12(6) prohibited handgun in Canada. That does not hinder me as I am grandfathered to own 12(6) handguns.  The gun was made pre-1898, and a mere change in calibre could move this gun from evil status to that of a non-firearm.  It has been deemed prohibited on the basis of calibre - .32, and barrel length - 3.5".  To gain antique status in Canada, it must not be chambered for a number of rounds including .32 S&W Short or Long, .38 S&W, .22 RF, .32-20, and a few others that will not fit into the frame anyway.

My question is to fit this into a loophole and gain antique status, is there another rimmed pocket pistol round that I have totally missed. Something European that I could have the barrel and cylinder linered to and rechambered.  The current owner was going to make it into a .25 ACP, but doesn't have the time or inclination to do so anymore.  I personally think it would be a giant waste of time because it might remain 12(6) due to the .25 ACP chambering (which is another sign of an evil gun).

Any suggestions?  Thanks.

The only caliber that I can think of that you have not listed as "evil" and has brass available for reloading is .38 short Colt, but I don't know of any pocket pistols made in that caliber although there are several larger revolvers made in that caliber.
I will no longer respond to the rants of the small minded that want to sling mud rather than discuss in an adult manner.

Oh right... .38 Short and Long Colt are on the list too.  I knew I was forgetting something.  Thanks though.

Would there be a 6mm or 7mm rimmed round?

I guess that .32 colt is probably also on that list? Maybe chamber it for a .32 H&R case-then handload to S&W short level, probably need to use a full wadcutter bullet seated flush with the case mouth to get it to fit it in the cylinder.

If you get a .38S&W, can you just mark it for .38-200, or is the old British service cartridge evil too?

What about 32ACP? It is semi-rimmed, and will fire in the 32 SW barrel, IIRC.
