One of my 1860 Armies (Uberti flavour) timing is still jest a tad out in that the full cock is jest Before the bolt snaps inta place I have tried various bolts and none will (Even after several tweaks), allow the bolt to follow the trigger. OK so what I`m thinking now is iffn I use a 2nd Gen Dragoon Bolt (From what I can remember the bolt is bigger) it will give me a longer arm for the cam to travel up, thus lengthening the timing of the bolt.

Now, I ain't gotta Dragoon so I cant set the two bolts side by side ta check, which means I`m asking iffn one of you pards have so`s to give me some idea as to whether or not it will be worth pursuing

Everything on the Dragoon bolt is bigger.  Dont think you can file enough off and have what you need in the right places.  Kinda of like trying to use an 1860 bolt in a 49 pocket pistol.  I'm working on a 2nd Gen Colt 1860 and am having problems with that as well.  It's funny how one gun everything goes right and on another of the same make and model nothing fits right.

Action flow chart ..... Does the cylinder lock up in battery???  Yes = Don't mess with it.  No = mess with it.  Does it half cock??? Yes = Don't mess with it.  No = mess with it.  Does it lock in full cock??? Yes = don't mess with it.  No = mess with it.  Can you resolve the lock up sequence messing with the bolt??? Yes = You fixed it already so stop messing with it.  No = stop messing with the bolt and mess with the trigger 'cause it's either too short or too long.
