I had a post about the EAA .45-70 barrel inserts....Now I've found out that EAA actually makes a .45-70 double rifle (Model EAA iZH MP221).  I have heard this is supposed to be imported by Remington now. Does anybody know anything about these.  It's got to be a hoot so shoot.

EAA is no longer importing Baikal products. Remington and Savage are now importing them. The following link is the double rifle you are referring to. http://www.spartangunworks.com/spr22.htm It is news to me. I think you can still get the barrel inserts from EAA.

Dixie Gun Works has a Pedersoli-made .45-70 double with external hammers.  Close copy of a Cly gun made in late 1800s.

Pricey: catalogs shows it at $2,600.00.  See page 69 about 2/3 down the page.

Dang Slim, you'd have to rob a stagecoach just to buy one! ;) :D

The price on Dixie's website is $3,250.00 . I got the picture from Pedersoli's website. Pedersoli also makes a Deluxe version. Can't imagine how much that would cost.  ::)

I'd have to sell my T-ruck to get one & I love my T-ruck!

For a brand new double rifle that is incredibly cheap!  Double rifles, any double rifle, are difficult to build and insure that both barrels shoot reasonably close to POA.   Look into the double rifle market and you'll see buying a double rifle of quality will require more than robbing one stage coach.

BQ, is it me or... does it seem since this CAS has become so popular, the $ for guns of all kinds have soared thru the roof? :o

Badlands, I have been for many years into upland bird hunting and fine doubles.  By comparison, CAS guns are inexpensive.  I have one bird gun that cost more than all my CAS guns, leather, and gear combined.  I'm not saying that to be snobbish, because I didn't buy the gun for myself as I could never justify in my mind spending that kind of money on a bird gun; it was given to me by my family.

The reason the price of CAS guns are going up is because the price of all European guns are rising due to the value of the dollar against the Euro.  All Italian guns have gone up 25% within the last couple of years.  I can't see that it has anything to do with the popularity of CAS.

I got a friend right now tryin' to sell me a Winchester Pump Original with both barrels for $1,200 before I leave town.  It's a real pretty gun & all, but I have no use for it.

Hey Slim - thanks for the link to Spartan Gun Works. I've got my local toy store trying to locate one of these and that will be a real help.  I know they wonder every time I walk in "What does he want this time"  ;D.  I don't have many guns that are "normal" when compared to their regular inventory.

One thing about the Pedersoli and I would guess the other one, they ain't regulated to a load, you have to work up the load to reugulate them.  No I understand it ain't hard if you don't mind hauling a bunch of reloading gear to the range and camping there for a day or so.

If the barrels cross fire you don't have enough recoil, if they shoot wide you have to much.  You regulate the recoil with bullet weight and powder charge.  Myself I lust after one, and would love the challage and am sure I could regulate on.  But I'm patient. ;D

The Bernardelli Brescia 12 ga. SxS hammer gun that I couldn't afford at $600.00 in 1972 I can't afford today at $4,900.00...if I could even find one for sale.

Top of the line double shotguns are out of sight.  Double rifles are WAAAAAAY beyond that.

Well apparantly not this one Forty Rod. List price at the Spartan Gun Works web site is under $600. Trouble is its not in this country yet I think. My gun shop is still checking.
