A little off the beaten  topics but I picked up a Detonics Mark VII at a local gun show.  This is the first time I have seen one of these critters in real life.  The Mark 7 is  dubbed "CIA" model--It was made without a front or rear sight.  I've had two combat masters in earlier times, one in 45 and one in 9mm. One I had to sell due to a financial crisis, the other due to stupidity.  Hope neither of these situations repeats itself!

Is that the little stubby Detonics pistol? I've had the pleasure of shooting with the Detonics boys using those at a Canadian IPSC National Championship. I beat one of them in a man-on-man stage - 6 rds-reload-6rds with my S&W M66 4" .357. The full-sized frame gun had not yet hit the market.

I placed both Top Revolver and Top 'B', winning a donated Detonics Halliburton 4 gun gun case with the Detonics logo on it. Still have it, a cherished memory.

What's going on with the grip safety on that gun?

PJ--I've always liked their compactness along with the big bore.  Last week I carried a Walther PPKS for a couple of days and felt sooooo undergunned!  Better than nothing, but when you can carry a 45 in about the same size, why not?

August--- the grip safety went to the same place that Browning's Hi-Power went.
