Californio Boots/Shoes

Hello,

I have been doing some research with very little success.

It seems that all the male California foot wear was simply worn out and discarded  ....

Written references describe them as lower than a Brogan but a high enough to protect the ankle from spur strap chafe.

Somewhat like a Chukka boot with a pointy toe.

I have heard modern boots somewhat like these called Botinas in Portuguese, but with elastic gores rather than buckles or Laces ...
