From a French site. Interesting set-up. I like the holder for spare cylinders.....

MY MY, if only those pieces of history could talk.  Thanks for posting, I love it.

Thanks for posting . . . those photos are great!  I found the spare cylinder pouch interesting - I've seen a few originals over the years but they had wood blocks in them - this is an interesting one with a tin liner.  It's amazing that this entire rig survived intact . . . I wonder what the story is on the lack of a cap pouch?  We'll never know for sure but as has been said . . . "if it could only talk!".

Thanks again for posting - gives me lots of ideas for a new "suit of clothes" for my '51 Navy . . . now let's see, where did I put that Texas buckle?    ;D :)

On the front of the cylinder holder there's a small pouch sewn on in thinner leather. Might that have held a few caps? Just guessing...

Skeeter, I'm betting that secret pouch is where the holsters owner hid the note that he slid to the bank tellers!  :o

Gent that had that rig was loaded for bear! Unique setup.
The first step of becoming a good shooter is knowing which end the bullet comes out of and being on the other end.

The belt is set up for pistol only. The pouch next to the holster is for the pistol ammo. The thin size is constructed to take the pistol ammo in package form. The pre-made paper rounds were packaged in bundles of six rounds and caps per bundle. The normal cap pouch that we see on civil war belts are for the larger rifle caps.
