Did Pietta or ASM ever make a brass framed 1860 Army with the bigger grips?

Anyone?

I am on the hunt for a larger brass grip frame, but, I am not sure if it even exists.

Looking at VTI, I don't see a part number or offering for it.

I've seen pics that LOOK like the larger army style, but, not quite sure if they were steel or brass.

Ideas?

Fingers McGee

I don't believe either one made a brass backstrap for the 1860 Army; but, I could be wrong.

Dont know iffn this will help...

Here is Pietta`s .44 sheriff..  it comes with brass BBS and BTG,

It might be worth chasing up VTI to see if they carry those parts and from what I can remember, (Which aint much :-[ ), Piettas are slightly larger pistolas. and so might be adaptable fer yer 1860

I had an older ASM that was brass framed and brass back strap/trigger guard, i believe. Swapped to Springfield Slim to use as a pattern for making holsters. You might check with him and see if he still has it.

Long Johns Wolf

I used to own an ASP/Euroarms stainless steel 1860 with brass back strap and trigger guard. This might be an alternative option.

If that model of the sheriff is the same one I have, it is a dream gun combining  44cal with the '51 Navy grip frame and slab sided barl.

Uberti makes brass trigger guards and back straps for the 1860.  They can also be purchased as a "set" with fitted wood.
Check with VTI Gunparts for availability.e
Ah ......... Some fitting required ;D
