I am sure you all have covered it before, but what is the case capacity of the .45 Special with a 200 gr bullet?  I know there are differences between brands of BP but if someone has a rough estimate I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

With a 200 grain J/P 45 bullet, 1.3cc gives a real nice compressed load of FFFg Genuine Powder.

Well that's gonna vary from between the different brands and lot numbers. I like 1/16"-1/8" compression with the BL 200gr J/P. Check out DJ's Photo Illustration in the Dark Arts. Adjust your powder measure to the desired compression and start loading. Good Luck :)

From the research and development center (my garage). 1/16"-1/8" compression using Lee dippers. Like Dick said, the 1.3cc dipper will work for both, just a little more compression with 200gr J/P.

1.3cc dipper carded off = 18.4gr.........Great for the 150gr EPP-UG
1.0cc dipper heaping = 15.2gr............Great for the 200gr J/P  (Lee Auto Disk #1.18cc)

Schuetzen 3f
1.3cc dipper carded off = 19.5gr.........Great for the 150gr EPP-UG
1.0cc dipper heaping = 16.2gr............Great for the 200gr J/P    (Lee Auto Disk #1.18cc)

Thanks to all.  I suppose I will stick with my .45 Colt and Schofield cases.
