I know I've seen these somewhere... but can't find them now.
I'm looking for a cylinder pin that is made to stay in w/o the loading lever holding it in place.
anyone know what I'm talking about, and where I could find one??
thanks
Ben

You're asking in the right place..I've seen one on a shortened barrel NMA.
It replaced the Ramer with a latch...can't recall who did it but it was clever attachment.

I tried a search, and came up dry.  I thought Paladin UK had made a short pin with a spring loaded clip to retain the cylinder pin.  It fits in the rammer hole.

River Junction used to sell those cylinder pin retainer clips, but I don't see it in their site anymore.

There's an old thread over on The Firing Line in which Smokin Gun posts this picture of it.....

Here's a link to the thread,....it's two pages long, and the 2nd page has the good photos, and also another interesting method of retaining the pin while keeping a small loading lever web is posted by Oldwheat..

Wish I had more time,.....it looks like a fun project.

I made some, a bit more involved than the Kirst made clip referred to by River Junction Trading.  I made them to fill the rammer hole and use a coil spring with travel stops so the spring is never over stresses.  See pictures below.  If you are interested, let me know, I'll come up with a price.  I need to know the maker of the Remington, as they are different in several dimensions.

Flint.
I'm not in the market for one but that makes a very nice finished and clean look.

I sent you a PM regarding your cylinder pin design.  It might have made it to your trash file.  I have a 58 Pietta and would like a price.  Outstanding!

Thanks.

By the way River Junction no longer is a Kirst dealer (the pin retainer above was a Kirst).
