Jamison brass ?
« on: December 16, 2011, 10:19:15 PM »
I read this on another shooters forum some time back,,month or two..that Jamison was going out of the brass making business ? It's wasn't a company release I don't 'think',,just another poster saying this.
Ya'll heard anything about this ,,,if it's factual or not ?

Thanks

It was posted on the Jamison website so I guess that is a pretty good indication.  Also, on another forum someone posted a copy of a lawsuit involving Jamison which may be another reason they have closed down.  Shame.  Darn good brass.  Website is now down, but this is what it said:

"(10/17/2011)
I am sure that many of you have heard the the rumors about Jamison International shutting down its plant. Unfortunately this is true. We would like to thank everyone for your business with us and we want to apologize that we will no longer be able to make our great products for you. You will still be able to purchase products through the website until this Wednesday evening. On October 19th, 2011 at 4:00pm Mountain Standard Time orders will no longer be able to be placed. All orders placed before that time will still be shipped out to you by the next day. Again we would like to thank all of you for the support and hopefully we will return under another company name.

This is not good news! At least I can cut down 45-70 brass to make 45-60 reasonably easily.

Most of the product they didn't sell direct at the closing was sent to Graf's. Buffalo Arms also has a large inventory as they bought quite a bit of the brass before the closing, and I'm sure Gullo didn't miss the chance to stock up when the word of the dissolution of the partnership got out.
