Spencer Model 1860 repeating carbine - Serial Number 36899, closest serial #36897, indicates Spencer Carbine issued to a member of Company I,  3rd Michigan Volunteer Cavalry, in June of 1865.  Carbine is in good condition, all mechanical parts in working condition.  Original patina, shows normal wear and tear for vintage,  shoulder and forestock in good shape, very few nicks or dings, some rust on barrel and metal parts.  Asking $2,800

and it is one of those numbers that doesn't really fall close to other
Spencer serial #s that are listed with their Civil War units.  I can only
give you a "guestimate" of what unit it may have been issued to.

Your Spencer Carbine may have been issued to a member of Co I, 3rd Michigan Volunteer Cavalry in June of 1865.
