Pattern Welded Bowie

I been working on the bowie since march of this year. First guard was wrought iron and antler for the handle. The wrought was to busy and the antler did not look good.So come out the hammer and put the blade up until the sept. When i decided on a brass guard and a wood handle. The steel billet I got from a gentle from Florida the steel is 52100 and 15n20 . So the patte is not jumping out it  real sutle looking.

Nice looking Bowie! I too been working on a couple of Bowie knives but I used plan tool steel from the brush hog blades off my tractors mower. They are like 3/8 inches in diameter but man can they cut down a sappling with just one hard fast blow.
