Hi All,

Well I took my Spencer to my monthly SASS match today.  I used it in two stages (only had 20 rounds loaded) and while I didn't get any speed records I did have the best time I've had in a along time.  Everyone agreed I won in the style points category.

I used the cut down 32 ga brass and didn't have one lick of trouble.  My time while shooting out of the magazine was pretty good, the timer said that I was about 1/4 slower than my Henry speed.  The reloads take the time up so I'll have to figure out how to best handle that.

A pard took pictures so as soon as I get them I'll post them here.

The next match is all Spencer with cap and ball pistols.  I'm even tempted to use by percussion shotgun!

You know, all the times I've used a Spencer at our local SASS matches, I've been getting kuodos for "Style Points" - but these "Style Points" never seemed to affect my overall times and standing at the end of the match!

But they're so much damn fun to shoot at these matches and there's absolutely no doubt when you hit the plate! :o  I tell you what, everyone had big grins on their faces after I would shoot a stage.  About 5 of them offered money to shoot it on a stage.  If I had more rounds I would have let 'em have a go free. ;D

There's been some talk by club members on having a full load/cap and ball match every couple of months using odd ball guns and rifles.  I swear that I could throw rounds faster than the loads some guys shoot 'em they load them so soft to get an edge. ;)
