Hello Ruger guys. I'm one too. You might say I have too many Rugers but that's probably an oxymoron. Anyhow, been looking for a place to learn how to slick up my guns. I've read tons of different things here and there and lately I've been wondering if there's one place you can go for easy-to-read articles by oldskool gunsmiths. The Ruger Shop Manual is a little too well written, if you know what I mean, and some of my guns don't feel exactly right. One or two feel like butter but most of the others seem to need adjusting. The cylinder latch rises early on some of my old models, for example. The only thing on my bucket list is to master the Ruger lockwork. Somehow.

Welcome to the forum.  I hope we can answer your Ruger questions.
And you can sure answer other Pard's posts too.
It has been a pretty good place to get Ruger info as it turns out.
Please post often.

Mine all shoot where they are pointed and go bang everytime the trigger is pulled with a loaded cylinder and the hammer cocked.
What could be slicker than that?
Perhaps I settle for too little.
I have never understood buying something that needs work, unless it was an old chevy for less than $100 when I was in high school.  Back then if you spent $100 or more you could get one that ran.  The other exception could possibly be a rifle you want to shoot sub-moa.

Having said that, if one believes slicking will help them shoot better, it will.  Betting that the real difference is in the Belief rather than the mechanics, unless there was something wrong initially that should not have made it past the QC inspection.

Seems like most guns need work to get the right trigger or smoothness or any number of things. Back when I owned a few Colt SAAs, two were worked over by Bob Munden and he made me a believer that factory specs are not always the best for the gun or the shooter.
