This is the old 1911 pattern that was posted here back when, with a couple of updates.   I added a little here and there to allow for a tension device that will work off the bottom of the trigger guard.  It allows for the gun to fall freely out when the holster is turned over but can be tightened until a very heavy tug is required to pull the gun free.  As can be seen this is not complete but I figure the details will show up better at this stage.  Now that I have the program figured out I will try to get a couple of other detail photos on here.

Backside showing the two tie down anchors for the belt loop and the adjustment T, which fell right on the first try.  Notice the holes are not even punched for the belt loop attachment and the odd contraption on the right is just something to hold the safety thong channel open.  Who says it doesn't make sense to have a safety strap and a tension device on the same holster?

Last photo shows detail of the way I incorporated the tension device. Not easily seen but there is a small length of tubing in the cutaway filler.  I was just in to big a hurry to see if it would work to spend any time on finish work that I normally do while the leather is flat.  Hopefully I can get a picture after the belt loop is rolled over and staked.  Do not know if I can carry this little holster patterm much further as I think a metal liner would be to much for such a small pattern.

Last two for now, I am out of the 7-8oz leather needed to try my next mod on the mag pouch.  The next version will go back to a single tension adjustable top screw and internal leather mag divider as well as a solid back using line twenty snaps to replace the two straps with line twenty four snaps.  This one works great but is a bit of overkill with two adjustments and the increased space on the front will allow for a large US or CS stamp.  If the mag pouch looks at all familiar it is because it is a mutt design that borrows from several older designs and the strap you see them on is a heavy piece of two inch leather.  Later guys.

Looks mighty fine to me Slowhand. Kirkpatrick has a tensioner device on a line of their CAS holsters. Several guys at our club have them. I've looked high and low for a Chicago screw with a large face like Kirkpatrick uses but no luck so far. They use black, but at this point I'd take any color of the size was right.

Thanks as always for sharing your work. I was just working on a shotgun shell holder last night from a pattern I received from you, again most appreciated!

Hello JD, I'm sorry to be slow responding my friend.  Unless someone comes up with a source for the custom stuff we will be reduced to using the devices that were first adapted to leather.  Except as an appearance issue the T-nut is one of the more common subs for the shortcomings associated with Chicago screws.  The good news is that the T-nut itself can usually be hidden from view and I have found a source for the 8-32 that is made from stainless steel and with a bit narrower flat plate (even means shorter prongs).  The company also carries a wide variety of stainless cup washers and screws to choose from.  All we need now is to find someone who knows how to turn stainless to a durable black finish!  Check link below and also take a peek at the ones called sex-bolts as they have some applications for us also.  Back later as I get my head back in order.
