just bought a used krist.it seems to work perfect on the frist 4 chambers, but on the 5th the bolt does not drop soon enough to alow the cly to rotate.the 58 is old navy arms only name on it.

jefff

my question is do i remove metal from hand or bolt? or something else? jefff

Slowhand Bob

Be sure you have that cat by the tail afore trying to skin him.  Mark the chamber of the cylinder that is locking and make sure that it comes up the same every time.   You do not want to mess with the metal until you are sure of the cause/relationship and what happens there when you do something here.

it is the 5th cham in rotation, the hand is making contact with the spur before the bolt drops.jeff

Ozark Iron John

I suspect it is a configuration issue.  Please make sure you've got it put together correctly.  That thing worked perfectly for me Jeff.  I never shot it all that often, but when I did, it went off all five times.

john there is nothing wrong with the kirst cyl and it fits the 58 well it is a timing issue the old gun.i just wanted to see if anybody else had this problem and how they fixed it before i started move metal.the krist seemed to work fine in my buddies uberti but i have piettas execept for the old navy arms that i am trying to make this work in.
do i shorten the hand?
do i modify the bolt to make it drop faster?
i was hoping someone like raven that had worked on alot of these could tell me
thanks jefff

I just want to be sure that you don't think I sold you a defective item.  Its rock solid, ain't it.

I've still got the other one.  I would like to sell it too I think.
