I got a medium size skinning knife with a clip point from my grandfather after he past. It has "Widder C.T." on the blade. Looks like it has good steel and the handle is comfortable. Just wondering if this would be something found back in the day on the range. Thanks for the help I'll try to take pictures this evening. ;D

Widder knives were made by Karl Piehl in Solingen, another artisan/ manufacturer which has since fallen by the wayside.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's one of the vast number of post-WWII knives that found their way to these shores - all good steel and well made knives.

Look forward to seeing the photos.
