Here are some more pics of the botas since Paladin UK asked.   Also threw in some of my accessories.
These are the right leg Botas, with my single shot pistol, knife, 1851 Colt powder flask, strike-a-light bag and a bag for gold.
Flask is a leg bone from a stray beef, capped in mesquite, strike a light is based on Kiowa designs and made from Elk.

Here are the items without the Bota

Inside of the right leg Bota, that is a Russel Green river knife that stays handy just at the top of the Bota.

This layout is very simlar to:

My pattern,  taken directly from a pair of originals on display at Jefferson Barricks Mo.

Mine are in Mule Deer and the corners are radiused (rather than Right angled)
Same leather thong tie and mine has plain stamped trouser Braces buttons.
I made them 1985 and they still give me good service..

Good job Morg

Mine are starting to weather nicely.   The bottoms have been wet and muddy the last two times they were worn.   I let them dry and brush off.  I use a mix of neatsfoot/olive oil/beeswax on them.   I figure all I may need to replace are the ties.    I have always liked the look and took this from one of Chuck Burrows patterns he was so nice to post.  I think one pattern was squared and one rounded.
