432 NOE

Anyone tried the 432 NOE bullet in a '73 Uberti? I bought the gang mould but since it's been colder than a whore's heart I haven't cast nary a one.    

I have only loaded a full 40 gr. of GOEX FFg in 44-40 to try in a Colt FSS and it was a handful, but shot no more accurate than 35 - 36 gr. at handgun distances, which as we all well know is no real test for a '73. I have always loaded 28 gr. of FFFg with a Circle Fly 0.125" thick 0.430" wad over it to shoot in my Henry & '66 carbine to duplicate the original .44 Rimfire load. I could hit a 4' x 4' steel plate all day offhand at 400 yds. using this load in the '66 carbine with a MAV bullet and also using a bullet I cast that is from a mould made by Old West Molds{sic} that is a better designed MAV type, but a tad longer. Incredibly, it didn't drop as much as I thought it would at that distance. I've always wanted a 24" '73 Deluxe Sporter in 44-40 so give me an excuse to 'drop the hammer'.    


44WCF, I think you shot this bullet but in a Marlin if I recall(?).    FWIW, to get  a full 40 gr. in a Starline 44-40 case I drop tubed slowwwwlllllyyyy. Still had compression but not as bad as I thought. I think a better way would be the vibration method to settle the BP more uniformly quite frankly for pistol cases.

What's your most accurate BP 44-40 load using the 432 NOE?

Yes, it was in a Marlin Cowboy 24".  37 grs. by weight of Goex FFG goes a bit over 1,200 f.p.s. and has worked pretty well.
