Made it to the Cortez shoot yesterday and I am glad that I did.  What FUN !!!

Met Auzzie Desperado from Huston. He is  a first rate pard and a good cowboy shooter. We got to visit off and on through out the match and he is using authentic rounds and LOTS (did I say LOTS??) of the real Black Powder. He is in the same crowd as Earl Brasse  for how much Black Powder one can put in a 44/40 round. Shotgun sounded like a small cannon . Almost brought a tear to my eye ! That is BP to the MAX !!

I had just grabbed what was closest to the front of the safe. SO I got some pop BOOM  smokeless/ bp rounds LOL.
I had loaded the 45 special case with the Big Lube 150 boolit and my own lube for the pistols . They hit everything I pointed the pistols at all day and cleaned up with ease. I am sold on that combo . It hits the target hard enough but saves some on BP over the 45 Colt or Schofiled .

Ok I am rambling on but when I have this much fun I like to share it with my BP friends here.

Oh and I did YELL (MORE POWDER) after Desperado shot each stage.

Well I am making it worse. What I get for watching the game and typing.

I think I spelled the name wrong. I think it is Aggie Desperado not the way I first spelled it. Sorry  :-[

Mason,

I really enjoyed the shoot, also.  It was great to meet folks I've only heard of through SASS and the forum in the past.  I don't get to travel much and shoot with other clubs, so this was a special treat.  Folks like Mason, Awful Ernie, Stumbleena, Piedra Kid, etc make this a wonderful sport.  What else can you do where you can go meet a group of folks you've don't know, and feel like you instantly belong?

I hope we can meet up along the trail again in the future.

Happy trails!

Hey Mason,

He told us here in Texas how much fun he had at the club with y'all.

We shoot with his boomers all the time, so we don't mind if you want to keep him!    ;)

He wants to collect more wooden nickels anyway.
