Locking bolt problem

Yesterday at the unloading bench, one of my Taylor's '58 44-40 conversions threw a shoe .....

The locking bolt is popping up prematurely disallowing the free rotation of the cylinder for unloading. This just happened out of the blue as it has been functioning perfectly before. Is this just a matter of tweaking the bolt/trigger spring and if so, what do I need to do about it?
I do have extra springs on hand.

The spring has nothing to do with early bolt rising.  It is doing its job by pushing the bolt up.  To fix early rising you need to tweak or replace the bolt.  A very remote possibility is the hammer cam might need some work.

I called Taylor's .....

their 'smith thinks it might be the locking bolt proper that is causing the problem. I've got the part on the way, stripped from a new gun.

He remembered my earlier problem with one of my consecutively #'d 44-40 conversions. It wouldn't hold on full cock. They sent me a hammer, again stripped from a new gun.

Looks like parts aren't yet readily available.
