When I was a kid there was a seafood place right on the waterfront southwest of the Space Needle. It was really good. Would you do me a favor while you're in Seattle if you have time? Would you eat there for me. (I really miss GOOD seafood here in Central Nebraska) If it isn't still there maybe you could go to the Spaghetti factory in the same neighborhood, that was awful good too. If you get bored visiting that area you could visit the Ye Olde Curiostity shoppe.  If I remember correctly all of these places are pretty close to where you will get on the boat.

Oh and I will strive to the utmost to uphold the honor of the GAF!

Jerry seafood is nice now and then, but we don't lack for good beef out here and that is what really counts. ;)

When we were in Louisiana last month Cathy mentioned maybe she'd get a steak. I ask her if she was nuts. She couldn't understand why so I explained about we have good beef and they have good seafood.

We'll only be in town one evening but the plan is to have seafood for dinner.  Not sure where as there are too many places I'd like to try (I lived in Seattle for 2 years).

(Del, I like good beef anytime, but there are times when you need to take advantage of the local cuisine, and Seattle has some great seafood! When I'm in the SW, I like to have Mexican, when I'm in the mid-west I like to have beef, and when I go to Germany and England I like the beer!)

We embark on a cruise on Friday morning and will be visiting Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, and Victoria, BC.  This is a "business holiday" as I'm attending some training coures onboard the ship, taking some special tours in Juneau and Victoria.  The life of a travel consultant can be pretty tough at times.... ;D

Oh yes sir, always take advantage of what the locals eat.  But where I'm one of the locals I prefer the best of the local cusine to be beef with perhaps a little pork now and then. ;)

However if you could PM me a good seafood dinner I would love it, see the local safood here consits mainly of Red Lobster or Long John Silvers. ::) :P

I'll be honest Del, I prefer a steak or even a roast to most things, but I do enjoy some good seafood now and again (Red Lobster and Long John Silvers don't really count).  I've found a difference in seafood in the NW to that of the south (like Louisiana) or the east, or for that matter the Mediteranean.  I like my pork barbequed as a rule.

NO!!!  In fact, I emptied the Brigade Whiskey Cabinet.  There may be something in the Rum Locker though.

So, General I understand you folks back east had a little shake up. Was that yesterday or this morning

That was yesterday afternoon.  I was doing a bit of work at the kitchen table when there was this loud rumbling noise, followed by considerable shaking of the house.  My first thought was "earthquake" having been through a few in other places (California, Austria, Okinawa, etc) I've had the priviledge of living now and again and I listened for anything falling.

Then I got to thinking it might be some kind of explosion in DC, which is located just a bit down the road (turns out a lot of folks had similar thoughts).  After a bit I noticed there was no heatwave or shockwave, so I quickly determined it was an earthquake.

It was a bit exciting a for a brief moment or two, but like I said, I've been through them before so didn't get unduly bothered about it.  However, the local news would have us believe it was only second to the one that hit Japan.  Not even close of course, but they enjoyed building up the fear factor and had people running to the stores to buy toilet paper, water, bread and milk for when the aftershocks would devestate the area.  My son, who was only 25 miles from the epicenter took it in stride as well.

We reportedly had two aftershocks but I didn't feel them.  I must admit that I got far more excited when I was in Iraq and the building I was in was bracketed by two 122mm rockets - now that was an experience!

Del,

I'm not picky - I like BBQ just about anyway it comes.
