I just fixed one of these my wife has.  Her Great-Uncle hand carved it for her.   I had one in a kit from Silver Dollar City when I was a wee lad in the 70s.    It did not survive the dance steps of th 80s.   Glad my wife's did.

I am going to try to get some varied interest going on this ....

Up to the knee joint, I am simply going to dye then with some Tandy Dye I use on boot soles ...

Then, the face and hair I am thinking could be painted on after the flesh colored face paunt dries ... Perhaps a handlefbar 'stache ... who knows?

Then, I hope to have the torso painted white with a dress shirt collar and a black painted tie/cravat

All the painting to be done by members of the Sacramento Area Woodworkers (SAW);

The final thing will be to turn it over to the Old Sacramento Historical Society to have a pair of pants, a periiod frock Coat and Vest (perhaps) made by the toy ladies to make it more real....

That is the plan anyway ....

I remember a guy pulling one out and using it in an improvised minstrel performance at a large CW event. I always thought that little things really add to the experience.
