For CAS I generally shoot bear creek bullets. Thus I have a lot and would rather not buy another bunch of bullets for BP.   Will they work with BP if I
1.  Pan Lube
2.  Use a grease cookie / wax paper and fiber wad (at CAS ranges do we need to worry about lube sticking to bullet and hurting accuracy)
3.  Use homemade wonder wads.

Has anybody out there shot bear creeks with BP?
Did they work, what are the issues

Lefty Dude

I was told it leaves a very hard deposit in the barrel, which is very hard to remove.

Try it and let us know what the results might be. ;)

99% of commercial cast boolits in Australia are polymer coated lead. I have sheetloads of these and tried pan lubing them with Pearl Lube. The lube wouldn't stick to the boolits  :'(.

I'd be trying a few first, just a few because the moly might taint it (not that I can see it doing any real harm to the lube).

Our crowd shoot are mostly smokless shooters, but when we have a BP match, they lube the boolits by smearing soft lube into the grooves with their fingers. Others use a card overpowder wad (cut from a paper milk carton usually) and a dob of lube under the boolit. Make sure you store your loaded rounds boolit down if its hot.
All my cowboy gun's calibres start with a 4! It's gotta be big bore and whomp some!
