If I remember correctly CBS bought F&S in the 70's. That was the reason Richard Starnes "retired". That was also when I no longer got a subscription. WM

That explains a lot then.  >:(

RickB, I also like American Rifleman and Impossible Shots. I liked Cowboys, but not as much after Richard Young was replaced. Somehow Flash did not come across as well. Would like to see it back on though. Just the thoughts of an ole fat cowboy. Tj

Best Defense: Survival is a much more useful program anyway, and it's still on. Take care.

Hey, I resemble that remark. LOL Fat and old.

I agree though. He was a bit too hollywood for my taste. I would like to see them present CAS as a whole. Not just SASS. There is so much out there they could have covered. So many groups and events. Would like to have seen that as well. Maybe we should all have a letter writing campaign to Larry Potterfiled and the other sponsors to get them to understand that we want it back on. I'm betting that if they thought they would lose some customers they would bring it back.

I still wish they would take off "The Gun Nuts" though. It's name alone is somewhat offensive. It's what our anti-gun enemies like to refer to us as. It would be like having a political show on called "The Teabaggers" talking about conservative political talking points.  ::)

Tascosa Joe

One of the early episodes with Flash, showed his house.  He an his wife had remodeled to make the house look completely Victorian.  They had a fairly large collection of Victorian funiture and items for daily living.  It was pretty cool.  He also had a damascus 97 Winchester.  I think he said 5 were made.  That too was totally awesome.  I liked the earlier shows with Tequila better.  For some reason I keep forgetting to watch gun stories, I think I saw part of the top break Smith show.

If any of you have ever shot with Tequila then you know he's the real thing. He's a pretty good cowboy to be around. That again is just the thoughts from this ole fat cowboy. Tj

I can't make threats to Larry Potterfield to not buy from Midway, Heck they got the best deals around. I might add the best service too. Tj

Not only that, when i was shooting on the same posse with Michael Bane one day last summer, he told me that the last season of Cowboys only went on the air because Larry Potterfield told the bigshots at Outdoor Channel that if all it took was more money to keep it on the air, he'd give them more money.

Well then, if anyone knows WHO we can contact to get this back on post the names and addresses. I'll write them to see what effect it has.
